Nate the Great and the Sticky Case

We have slacked off on our Nate the Great reading for some other choices the past couple weeks! Today we started a new book and had too much fun with the extra projects in the back of the book. Today we were all about magnify glasses and we had a blast looking at things.




Ten Fun Things to Look at with a Magnify Glass (Quoted from the back of Nate the Great and the Sticky Case)

  1. Postage Stamps
  2. Feathers
  3. Salt (Look at each grain and compare to see if they are the same)
  4. Your finger tips ( I also had them made fingerprints with a stamp pad)
  5. A dead bug (Ewww I know but my BOYS loved it)
  6. A piece of cloth
  7. A DVD or CD (The colors are too cool)
  8. Coins and Money
  9. Leaf or piece of grass
  10. Almost anything else your child could find!

 We also got to make our own Magnify Glasses! All you need is a printer, card stock, crayons and this website: http://www.randomhouse.com/teachers/pdf/nateactivities.pdf.

Very fun way to get my boys into the books and staying out of trouble! I now have three detectives looking  for clues through out the house. I love how much imagination and pleasure my boys get after a book! These crafts really help them get into the spirit!
