Misconseption Monday's # 3: So you don't work?

I am standing around after Wednesday night service talking and some guy says "Well, Mindy doesn't work so she probably doesn't understand when you don't want to go out at night Luther."  I think to myself REALLY? I don't work? The sad part is this is not unusual for me to hear. So since I don't work here is a low down of a day as a Wife, Mom and Homeschool teacher. 

• Wake up- Notice that someone has wet the bed. Strip the bed and throw the sheets in the washer.
• Find clothes for all three boys- (Pray I washed matching outfits)
• Get breakfast- (Someone will complain because he never gets to pick what we have.)
• Clean the kitchen and probably take something out to thaw for dinner.
• Start School -(Reading, Math and sometimes crafts or cooking) During this time I will get up several times to retrieve Gibson from climbing on the counter, letting the dog out or Jumping off the couch.
• Lunch time-I grab a microwave soup from the cabinet and eat it while I pour milk that has already spilled twice.
• More kitchen cleaning. Amazing how many dishes three little boys can use.
• Maybe now I might take time for a computer break as the boys play for awhile.
• I am up and at it again! I remember about now that the sheets are still in the washer.
• It is dinner time and I am looking forward to Luther. I get dinner started and about ten minutes after Luther should leave from work he will text me he is going to be a little late.
• Luther arrives! The boys and I  are on cloud nine as we all greet him with hugs. We eat dinner
• More kitchen duty! Lucky for me Luther is home and a great helper!
• The boys take a bath and I gather up clothes for the laundry and some Pajamas.
• Luther and I spend some time together. We have our family devotion and then it is time for bed.
• Luther puts the boys down for bed and I give them hugs and kisses.
• We fall into our own bed too exhausted for words!

Now don't get me wrong I love what I do. I am blessed to be able to stay at home with my boys everyday! I do however take exception to the fact that I don't work. Being a Mother is a lot of work and no we don't get a lunch break! I must say of all the jobs in the whole wide world I would choose the one I have. Even if it doesn't come with a desk, title or even a paycheck. I could never put a price on the many ways I am blessed by being a homemaker and mother to my guys!
