Capstone Academy!

"Whomever we allow to educate our children will inevitably be their primary discipler."

When Luther and I first got married we talked about Homeschooling our children. I honestly was totally against it. All kinds of thoughts raced through my mind. How would I deal with that responsibility? What would I teach? Could I really provide them with what they needed? The more I thought about it the more I was convinced our children MUST go to public school.

Then came the most active blue eyed boy I had ever met. He exhausted me. He went until he literally fell asleep leaning up against a wall. His excitement was contagious. He wanted to touch everything. He asked a million questions and remembered more than I could ever dream of. He couldn't sit still and he was always trying his preschool teachers who just couldn't help but love him.

I had six wonderful years with this boy before we had to make a very important decision. Not only for him but his brothers as well. I stayed up nights thinking of all the ways his spirit and enthusiasm would be crushed. I thought of him sitting in a desk looking out the window at all the world that God created and all that could be learned from it.

Finally We made decision and Capstone Academy was born. I am looking forward to writing about our Family, Faith and Home school in the days to come.

I have always said, "NO!!!" to homeschooling, but I have already started rethinking this as I know Patrick will have his very own set of cool, unique, and amazing needs that may not be met in school. Can't wait to see where God leads your family in this journey!
